The Data Demystified Summit Berlin took place in March 2026 at JW Marriott Berlin, co-located with The MarTech Summit Berlin. The summit brought together senior data leaders, analytics experts, and technology strategists to explore the evolving challenges of customer data management in a privacy-first world.

Designed as a content-first, practitioner-led gathering, the event focused on the real operational questions organisations face today, from navigating cookieless environments and data governance, to AI adoption, data quality, and turning customer insights into measurable business outcomes.
Unlike large trade shows or vendor-heavy conferences, Data Demystified Summit Berlin offered a focused environment for senior practitioners to exchange knowledge, share real-world experiences, and build meaningful professional connections.

Summit Agenda & Key Discussions

The summit agenda explored the intersection of AI, customer intelligence, data governance, and business strategy, with sessions designed to move beyond theory and focus on practical implementation.
Discussions throughout the day examined how organisations can build sustainable customer data ecosystems while navigating privacy regulations, technological change, and increasing expectations for personalisation.
AI & Advanced Analytics
The opening panel explored how organisations are applying AI and advanced analytics to better understand customer behaviour across digital touchpoints.
Speakers shared practical experiences of leveraging predictive analytics, machine learning models, and generative AI to deliver measurable impact in areas such as customer retention, personalisation, and conversion optimisation.
Responsible AI & Customer Engagement
A later panel examined how organisations are operationalising AI-driven customer engagement strategies while maintaining transparency and data protection.
Speakers emphasised the importance of MLOps practices, governance frameworks, and cross-team collaboration to ensure AI systems remain reliable, ethical, and scalable.
Sebastian McClintock, Head of Customer Experience at Ratepay, noted:
“Effective AI is not just about technology — it requires cross-team collaboration. Involving multiple departments, safeguarding consumer data, and implementing continuous quality monitoring are essential to ensure AI systems deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality responses from the start.”
AI Regulation & Infrastructure
As regulatory scrutiny around AI increases across Europe, speakers highlighted the importance of balancing innovation with compliance and responsible governance.
Ahmed Koraiem, Head of Marketing Analytics at Welltech, shared:
“The AI ecosystem is evolving rapidly, with new regulations emerging continuously. The industry will gradually move from experimental adoption of tools toward solutions that demonstrate safety, compliance, ethical standards, and reliability.”
Building a Data-Driven Culture
Another key theme throughout the summit focused on how organisations can successfully embed data-driven decision-making into everyday business operations.
Norman Nielsen, Vice President of Organic Growth at idealo, emphasised:
“Break down organisational silos by working in cross-functional squads. Begin leadership discussions with data dashboards to ensure AI and big data insights directly support strategic decision-making.”
The Cookieless Future & Customer Identity
With third-party cookies rapidly disappearing, the summit also explored how organisations can build durable customer data foundations.
Priyanka Purkayastha, Global Digital Marketing & Analytics at Volkswagen Passenger Cars, explained:
“Cookies were never the real strategy—they were merely a shortcut for scalable retargeting. The real challenge is whether organisations have built durable data foundations or remain dependent on cookies.”
Engagement & Interaction
The summit saw strong participation throughout the day, with attendees actively engaging in discussions, networking sessions, and audience interactions.
Interactive polls throughout the summit allowed attendees to share perspectives on key industry challenges and priorities.
