Summit highlights

The summit addressed several trending topics, informed by our ticket registration survey, where we asked attendees, “Which area of your data stack would you like to improve?”

We had our opening panel on the topic of GenAI & LLMs – Smarter, Faster Analytics with Generative AI.

An interactive word cloud question was conducted, asking, “What are the purposes of adopting GenAI in your organisations?” The responses from our attendees indicated that automation, along with increased productivity and efficiency, were the primary purposes.

During the panel, Pairote Leelaphattarakij, Vice President of Engineering at LINE MAN Wongnai, advised starting with low-risk, low-friction use cases. For scaling with security needs, he recommended leveraging open-source models to manage costs while maintaining control.

Phatcharee Udomthanasub, Global Associate Director, Data & Technology at DKSH added that success is more achievable when a strong foundation is developed first, focusing on data quality and employee buy-in. She emphasised that people are at the heart of transformation; walking together with technology leads to sustainable success. Relying solely on technology might achieve success, but with little to no adoption, the impact would be limited.

We had a moderated fireside chat on Business Intelligence & Analytics, How to Craft a Winning Business Intelligence Strategy.

During the session, a poll was conducted asking, “What is the biggest challenge your organisation faces in leveraging BI effectively?” The results revealed that over half of the audience identified a lack of integration and organisational silos as the primary challenges. The speakers addressed these issues, offering insights and advice to help overcome them.

The moderator, Ramakrishnan Raja, Principal at Resonant Agency gave a summary on the chat that – A smart BI strategy is super important for thriving in the new AI driven economy. But it’s not one size fits all.

We are honoured to have a prestigious fireside chat between Topp Jirayut Srupsrisopa, Founder & Group Chief Executive Officer at Bitkub Capital Group and Deeksha Malik, Head of Data at Pi Securities to talk about leveraging Data Technology for Industry Transformation.

Topp shared a key takeaway: To future-proof digital asset systems and promote sustainability, organisations must prioritise data security and transparency while leveraging AI-driven innovations for scalability, efficiency, and positive environmental impact.

Apart from data analytics and technology topics, we brought in discussion on Data Governance – Establishing Frameworks for Data Governance, Security, and Compliance.

Below is a word cloud generated from a question posed by the speakers to the audience about what data governance means to them. It highlights data quality control and compliance as essential components of this topic. Our speakers addressed these areas, providing valuable takeaways for our attendees.

Julien Hoornweg, Managing Director & Data Governance Consultant at SRRS Consulting, concluded that data governance is most effective when it begins on a small scale and expands with proven, practical examples. He emphasised the importance of creating policies that align with real needs and involving non-data professionals early on to ensure lasting impact and buy-in.

Sutthipong Kuruhongsa, Vice President at Data Management Association Thailand, added that data governance experts should consider data governance across the entire lifecycle—from data creation to usage and deletion. He advised starting with critical data elements (CDE) rather than attempting to address everything at once.
